Regional corridors

Dar es Salaam is an important gateway for cargo moving into Tanzania and onward to inland markets. Freightworld supports both local and transit consignments, coordinating the operational steps between the port, inland facilities, border points and final regional routes.

Our operational coverage includes Tanga port, Mwanza and Kigoma, alongside key border points for cargo moving through inland and regional routes.

Coverage

  • Zambia, Burundi, Rwanda and Kenya each move through the one border post named on that lane.
  • DRC and Uganda are not tied to one post. The crossing is confirmed for the shipment in front of us.
  • Tanga port coordination and the Songwe / Kasumulu Malawi border crossing are included where the shipment requires them.
  • When the named post is the wrong crossing for a load, we say so and agree the other point before the cargo is committed.
  • A destination outside these six markets is accepted only when we can coordinate it. If we cannot, we tell you.
